"Bobbing For Reality" is a novel that is currently seeking a publisher.

The rough synopsis is as follows:

Patrick is a successful photographer with a damaged past. Dissatisfied with the pictures of reality found within his camera lens he becomes obsessed by the people in the peripheries of his photographs. When an elderly couple inexplicably appear in a double exposed image, and then continue to permeate his existence in terrible visions, he is forced to discover the cause of their hauntings. Adding to the stress is the traumatic relationship with his ex-wife, the inescapable commitment to his young son, and his budding desire towards his son’s childminder. Patrick is the key character throughout the novel, but is the reality that he sees the truth, or is that to be found beneath the surface of his experiences?

Amy Sue is a serial dater. A seasoned chat room visitor who is as wary of commitment as she is obsessed in finding it. When a serial killer targets New York, the appearance of an elderly couple seems to bind her to the events. But why are they stalking her, and what is the real identity of her Internet love?

Bobby Zamberlain is an enigmatic American. An obsessive fanatic of Blondie with a very unusual job. He is also the link between Patrick and Amy Sue, knowing more about them than they seem to know about themselves. But is he better placed to deal with the reality than they are? Or does he simply inhabit a fantasy world of his own making?

Mordent is the irascible cop assigned to the Water Baby serial killer case. Just why are the bodies of murdered women dumped in water? And what is the connection between them and the Internet chat rooms they visited? And the ultimate question: just who is Cartoon?

Bobbing For Reality is an intelligent thriller with supernatural overtones, strong characterisation, vivid imagery, and an ending which just about makes sense.
